Keep a record of everyone you talk to in your job search

Recruiters, referrals, and the person you met once at an event all go in Contacts, CareerPigeon's networking tracker. You record who each person is, how you know them, and where the conversation stands. Set a follow-up date and the reminder rides on the contact record.

Everything a contact record holds

A name, a job title, a company, a LinkedIn link, and a line about how you know the person. Every contact also has a notes area for what was said and what you offered to send. Search runs across names, companies, roles, and that relationship line, which is usually how you find someone you only half remember. Sorting covers recently added, name A-Z, company, and pipeline stage. When the opening came from the Personal Recruiter, put that company in the company field so the person and the role come back in the same search.

Stages, from identified through advocate

Each contact sits at a stage: Identified, Connected, Engaged, Warm, or Advocate. A small funnel at the top of the page counts how many people are at each stage, and selecting one filters the list to those contacts. You change a stage straight from the row, so the list stays current after a reply lands.

Reminders and recurring check-ins

Open a contact and you can set a one-time reminder for a specific date, a recurring check-in, or both. Recurring check-ins come with monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and yearly presets, and you can set your own interval in days, weeks or months. A chip on the contact row tells you when something is overdue or due today. Marking a check-in done rolls the next one forward for you.

Outreach drafts you send yourself

Ask for an outreach template on any contact and you get a LinkedIn note plus an email with a subject line, both built from what you have recorded about that person, along with a few pointers on sending it. Copy either one and edit it until it sounds like you. You send it from your own LinkedIn or email account. A first message that reads like automation gets treated like automation. The notes you keep here are what you bring to the Interview Coach setup screen when one of these conversations turns into an interview.

  • AI-drafted LinkedIn and email outreach you copy, edit, and send from your own account

Do I need to import my LinkedIn connections?

No. You add contacts by hand, one at a time, with as much or as little detail as you have. A name is the only required field, so you can add someone the moment you meet them and fill in the rest later.

Does CareerPigeon message my contacts for me?

No. Outreach templates are drafts you copy out of the app, and you send them from your own LinkedIn or email account. That is a deliberate choice. Recruiters and alumni can tell when a first message was sent by software, and the reply rate shows it.

Is Contacts useful if my network is small?

That is the case it was built for. A handful of recruiters, alumni and people met at one event is a list you can work properly. The hard part is remembering to go back to them on time, which is what the check-in dates are for.

Is Contacts sold separately?

No. It comes with a CareerPigeon account, and the account itself is free to open. Plan details live on the plan page.
